Motivation for the FILOS - Software

In the filtration practice there is a great need for computer aided reliable calculation methods based on experiments for analysing and evaluating the quality of laboratory, pilot and operational tests and also for the dimensioning of filter devices.

The lack of such tools means that people working on a practical level often have to spend a great deal of effort on unsystematic experiments with the attendant costs in terms of time and money.

Despite this great effort, it is often impossible to properly quantify the filtration behaviour of the given product, to justify the respective device as the better alternative to other devices, and to demonstrate the optimising potential of the specific device, either by changing the adjustment parameters or / and by avoiding the negative effects related with the given device.
